HERE IT IS! The .700 Caliber “Dinosaur Hunting” Rifle

on

The largest gun most people have ever shot is 12-gauge shotgun and fails in comparison to this rifle. This beast is a .700 caliber rifle.

The slugs are said to weigh-in at 1132 grams each and can travel 1600-1800 fps. Without the muzzle break the recoil would generate 150 foot-pound of force and knock most people to the ground.

You can see just how powerful the rifle is as it has no problem shooting through a quarter-inch steel plate.

Isn’t the barrel a bit short for that big a bullet? I think it would be more accurate with a longer barrel

With that bullet all you have to do is hit something and accuracy will not matter as much

Yes a longer and heavier barrel combined with a beefier frame would improve accuracy and control.

Not take anything away from this gun, but a 12 ga. Is a 72 caliber and an old school deer slug comes in at an ounce or 437.5 grains. I am sure that the bullets for this gun come in at 1132 grains, not grams. The 12 would pale in comparison, but this comparison is misleading.

so – was that 1/4 inch steel plate the thickest you could punch through or what?? My 22-250 rippeled the backside of a 1″ thick plate steel & would have gone all the way through it had it been a solid instead of a soft – nose
