“Bachelor in Paradise”: Producers Not Responsible for Assault

Contract is Not Looking Good for Olympios

Corinne Olympios has lawyered up against the producers of “Bachelor in Paradise.  Therefore, it is important to review the contract Olympios signed prior to becoming a contestant.  Initial interpretations are not in Corinne’s favor.

TMZ has obtained a copy of the show’s contract.  All contestants must sign it prior to joining the show.  According to the contract, all contestants waive the right to:

“…negligence, personal injury (including without limitation, any injuries arising out of the transmission of a sexually transmitted disease or unwelcome/unlawful contact or other interaction among participants).”

Essentially, the producers would not be responsible for the sexual encounter.  This is regardless of Olympios being in a “blackout” state.

However, that is not to say the case is open and shut.  If producers were reckless, the clause would be null.  From reports thus far, filming an assault when one is incapable of giving consent is reckless.

Cast mate Says Corinne was “Coherent”

According to DeMario, the footage from that evening will vindicate him.  A female cast member is now claiming that Corinne was coherent that evening as well.  TMZ reports:

“…one female cast member walked right by the pool when Corinne and DeMario were hooking up, and saw her with her top off and her legs wrapped around him. We’re told Corinne yelled out to the passerby by name and seemed ‘very with it’.

The cast member told others she would have done something to break up the pool tryst if she felt Corinne was too drunk. Further, the cast member says cameras followed her when she walked by … so the whole encounter should be on tape.”

The cast member further claims that Corinne was able to recount the encounter the following day.  However, she was worried that her boyfriend was going to find out about the tryst.

The encounter was apparently never described as non-consensual.
