Dennis Rodman heading to North Korea

According to North Korean officials, NBA Hall of famer Dennis Rodman is heading to North Korea, expected to arrive Tuesday.
This at a time of severe tension between Washington and Pyongyang, which has detained 4 Americans.

A senior U.S. official revealed the State Department was aware Rodman was planning to travel to the country, run by dictator Kim John Un, but stressed Rodman was not traveling there for the U.S. government.

Rodman was spoted at Beijing’s International Airport. It’s unclear the purpose of Rodman’s visit, but the former basketball star is one of the only Americans who’s ever met the country’s current Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. Rodman has visited the country at least 4 times, with 3 of the visits taking place between 2013 and 2014.
