“Bachelor in Paradise” Alleged Sexual Assault: Crew Continued Filming

Trouble in Paradise

Production for the fourth season of “Bachelor in Paradise”, a spinoff of “The Bachelor”, has ground to a halt.  Initially, Warner Brothers’ released a very vague statement:

“We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” in Mexico.  We have suspended production, and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”

According to TMZ, a field producer issued a complaint.   The complaint states that Corinne Olympios was too intoxicated to consent to sexual advances from DeMario Jackson.  The encounter took place in a hot tub with the cameras rolling.  The crew decided to continue filming instead of intervening.

Corinne has been no stranger to controversy. She was largely disliked by her fellow contestants for her behavior on “The Bachelor”.

Details Emerge

An insider gave an account of the incident to Daily Mail:

“Corinne and Demario found out when they arrived in Mexico that the storyline would involve the two of them hooking up so they decided to hang out and get better acquainted over drinks.

Soon they decided to go swimming and when they climbed into the Jacuzzi, they were both loaded. Corinne proceeded to remove her bathing suit and things got increasingly sexual.

There was hugging and kissing and touching, but before long, she seemed to go limp and was sliding under water. Demario kept trying to hold her up and at the same time he appeared to be having intercourse with her. After he finished – which only lasted a few seconds – he lifted her out of the water and laid her on the cement, where he proceeded to have oral sex with her.

She appeared to be unconscious.  At that point, some of the crew came out and carried her off to her room. She was limp and seemed unable to walk on her own.”

The following day, Olympios was filled in on what occurred in the hot tub.  She appeared to have no recollection of the incident.  From that point forward, the set transformed into a crime scene.  The LAPD, psychologists, and medical professionals were brought in to interview witnesses.

Corinne and DeMario have been in contact since the incident, and sources believe that they are on good terms.  Olympios appears poised to take legal action against the show’s producers – she has hired a lawyer.

There are also rumblings that this may be the beginning of the end for “The Bachelor” empire.

Recent text messages obtained by the New York Post show that Jackson believes he will be exonerated once footage of the encounter is released.  Jackson writes, “we all know what happened…the tape will prove it.”

Jackson was a star on the current season of “The Bachelorette”, but he was kicked off after it was discovered that he had a girlfriend.  He was a last-minute addition to “The Bachelor in Paradise”
