Peyton Manning Had One Word for Liberal Critics After He Golfed With Trump

Peyton Manning has always had a way with words.

On Tuesday, the former NFL Quarterback appeared on Jimmy Kimmel live.  Kimmel discussed Peyton’s recent golf game with the president.

Kimmel was curious how the president got Peyton on the links.  Manning, who was in D.C. at the time of the invite, was simply contacted by the White House.  A lot of people didn’t want him to go, including Jimmy Kimmel.

Manning defended his choice:

“I heard Arnold Palmer say one time if the president of the United States ever asks you to play golf, you do it, it’s a no-brainer. And it was a fantastic experience. Rode in the motorcade over there and I’ve never felt safer playing golf. We had 30 golf carts behind us. Felt safe, but he was a great host. He loves sports. And we passed through a number of groups. He was very gracious. He took a picture with groups that we passed through.”

Peyton continued the conversation saying that he’d accept an invitation from a president regardless of political stance.  To do anything but accept was something he summed up with one powerful word: “un-American”.  Manning has also golfed with George W. Bush.

It’s a funny interview to watch.  Liberals would have liked to see Manning say he had a terrible time, but he didn’t.  In fact, he seemed to have an admiration for the president.  It was especially funny knowing that Kimmel wasn’t a fan of the decision.  He even went so far as to ask if President Trump cheated.

Peyton rose against the partisan politics of today.  After all, it’s a game of golf with the president.  Who could resist such a chance?

Manning is a classy man, and was one of the best quarterbacks of his era.
