Texas Rep. Al Green files paperwork to impeach President Trump

on

Just a day before former FBI Director James Comey testifies before the Senate Intelligence Committee about his interactions with President Donald Trump and his probe of Russia’s interference in the 2016 campaign, a House Democrat plans to draft articles of impeachment.

Texas Rep. Al Green — the first House Democrat to call for the President’s impeachment on the House floor in May — wants to move forward with the next legislative step. Green said in a statement Tuesday evening:
“This is obstruction of justice. This will continue to be obstruction of justice regardless of testimony given by Mr. James Comey. This will remain obstruction of justice regardless of the findings of any investigation.”
Top Democratic leaders have specifically urged members to not raise the idea of impeachment, saying they need to allow investigations that are underway to uncover more details about the president and his team’s actions.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, appearing on ABC’s “The View” on Monday saying:
“When that word comes up I always say to my colleagues in the Congress, my constituents, and people across the country what I said before: anything you do has to be based on data, evidence, facts. So you can speculate but it’s got to be the law and the facts and how they match up.”
According to two senior House Democratic leadership aides, Green did not give anyone an advance warning that he decided to move forward with formally introducing the charges in the House. But Green revealed that after his public call for impeachment, he got a slew of threatening voicemails and messages.
During his May speech on the House floor Green said:
“This is about my position. This is about what I believe. And this is where I stand. I will not be moved. The President must be impeached.”
Green also explained that this was the just the beginning of the long process saying:
“For those who do not know, impeachment does not mean that the President would be found guilty. It simply means that the House of Representatives will bring charges against the President. It’s similar to an indictment but not quite the same thing.”

Impeach for what, you clown? You have zip, zero, nada, nothing but lies and innuendo. You need to put your attentions on the real problems in this government. Oh wait, that might include you.

What an idiot!! He is actually as stupid as he looks. What a political hack. Where was this man during Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Improper handling of confidential documents, illegal server in closet, Beating subpoenaed evidence with hammers, money to Iran, Uranium deal to Russia. Clinton Foundation pay to play schemes, Atty Gen Loretta Lynch clandestine meeting with a suspect’s husband on tarmac — the list of potential high crimes and misdemeanors goes on and on, but Trump is colluding w/Russia!! Fake News by the ALT-Left whose Hatred if Trump is palatable. Investigating Trump for almost a year now and ZERO evidence.

Doing this without valid justification is akin to treason.. There might be a trial, but I doubt President Trump will be the defendent.

Doesn’t he have to give viable specific reason/charges for an impeachment? You can’t just go around accusing people of anything unless you want a defamation of character suit brought back on you.
